Where It All Began
Labradoodles were developed in Australia in the late 1980s by Wally Conron, who crossed a Labrador Retriever with a Standard Poodle to create a guide dog that was hypoallergenic. The breed quickly became popular worldwide as a family companion thanks to its intelligence, trainability, and friendly nature.
